Information we do not ask for

You do not need to create an account. The calculator does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, street address, or payment information. It does not build a personal profile from your storage rent.

Calculator inputs

Rent, time horizon, moving cost, and setup cost inputs are processed in your browser to produce the result. We do not intentionally save the exact amounts as a personal record or place them in the page URL. Analytics represents dollar values only as broad ranges rather than exact amounts.

The site may store a random anonymous session ID and calculation count in your browser's local storage for up to 24 hours. This supports funnel measurement and does not use browser fingerprinting.

Location searches

The calculator does not ask for or collect a ZIP code or exact location. If you choose the nearby-storage link after viewing a result, it opens a general “self storage near me” search on an independent third-party service.

The destination service may use location settings, an IP address, or information you provide there to show nearby results. Its privacy policy applies after you leave this site. This site does not receive that location information.

Google Analytics

The calculator page uses Google Analytics 4 to understand whether the calculator is usable and whether visitors choose to search for alternatives. Events may include page views, calculator interaction, result state, campaign tags such as UTM values, referrer domain, device type, and broad value ranges. The Privacy, Affiliate Disclosure, and About pages do not load Google Analytics.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and process technical data under Google's terms. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled for this site. Review Google's Privacy Policy for more information about Google's data practices.

The current experiment is designed for U.S. renters. We do not intentionally direct this experiment to jurisdictions that require prior analytics consent.

Third-party marketplaces and affiliate links

Storage marketplace or affiliate links lead to independent third-party websites. Those services control their own inventory, rates, reservations, privacy practices, and technologies. Review their policies before providing information or completing a transaction.

Sale of personal information

This site does not sell users' personal information. This statement describes the current Artifact and is not a claim of certification under any particular state, federal, or international privacy regime.
